The Sommelier’s Guide — Spring 2026

Spring doesn’t only change the light.
It also transforms the way we eat… and drink.

Dishes become fresher, more plant-driven, more spontaneous.
Our preferences evolve: less power, more precision. Less structure, more movement.

It is a season of transition — where we seek lightness, without giving up on pleasure.

A Season of Balance

In spring, pairings are built around one essential idea:
bringing back freshness, without losing texture.

We naturally lean towards:

  • wines that are more vibrant, yet never aggressive

  • lighter textures, while still present

  • pairings that support without weighing down

It is a season where balance becomes almost instinctive.

My Perspective as a Sommelier

Spring is a subtle season.

It isn’t summer yet, but it’s no longer winter.

It’s a time when we rediscover wine in a different light: more free, more instinctive, more vibrant.

It’s also the ideal season to break out of our routines, explore new styles, and leave room for surprises.
